Rydia was orphaned at a rather young age, and because of that she was sent to a few different foster homes, not because of her attitude or anything, but simply because the parents didn't want to handle a young girl that could already take care of herself for the most part. She was already able to make most of her own meals, clean up after herself and so on. Her schooling before enter this school was just the same, she was always a good student, but she never talked about her past or her feelings, she kept all of that to herself. And this would always remain the same. She could always help other people with their troubles, but she never acknowledged her own.

The reason for this is because she was frightened by it all, it made her realize just how alone she was, and because of that fact she tried to push it away. Though that was doing more damage than good in the long run, but she just never really found anyone that she could talk to about it all. And once she entered this school, things remained quite the same, always helping others and not asking for help in return. Though, she was looking for someone that she could confide in, hoping that maybe this year she'd be lucky.
