Kaige can be rather withdrawn and sarcastic around people, whether he likes them or not. He is confident enough himself to say what is on his mind, even tho that tends to lead him into trouble. He might come off as harsh or cold but he is really a good guy that just needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut for the most part.

Kaige is really intelligent and see things a bit different from others, so he really can't stand things like stupid questions. He doesn't have the patients to deal with it and is likely to end up snapping at the person. Even with that being said he won't just stand by and watch as someone is hurt or picked on.

He isn't the type that will rush in to help right away but if he keeps seeing it or it gets really bad he will step up and do something to help the person out. He is the you might have a hard time getting close to but once you do you'll be able to see he isn't that bad.

He can be rather crazy at times and tends to do things out of the box so to speak. He isn't the easiest guy to figure out and just when you think that you might have him he does something you won't see coming. Their is a mysterious part of him that he likes to keep to himself but despite things he can most of the time come off as a rather sarcastic smartass, with a decent heart.

HISTORY:

Kaige wasn't always as much of a smart as as he is now, at one point in his life he actually did try and get along with people. He was a scientific researcher with with a company doing experiments on the effects of different magics. He was actually happy with his work and even had a nice thing going life was good, but like all good things it didn't last very long. One day the company wanted him and his team to try and enhance and mess with some very unstable fire magic.

At first he tried to protest against doing it saying it was to dangerous for him and his team. The company wouldn't hear any of that though and said if they didn't do it they could all look for another job. Many of them had families and Kaige couldn't let them all be out of a job for him. He decided to go on with the task and warned his team to be as careful as possible.

The started to get to work testing the levels of power and trying all they could to stall the most dangerous part of the task. Finally they couldn't anymore and the team went on to trying to enhance the fire magic a little at a time. Things were going well at first the magic was taking but the company board wanted things pushed along faster. They started to put pressure on him and his team to speed up on the process. His assistant didn't want to see him or the others fired over this and she took it upon herself to try and force the magic to enhance.

That would be their downfall the already slightly unstable magic when out of control as the flame turned blue and started to set everything ablaze. The building, his team any people died in that accident and every he should have died them but instead the magic infused itself within him. He Now had the blue flame within him but it took him a few years before he could control it and keep it from burning those around him. It was around that time that he ran into Arran and he helped him to gain better control over the magic not to let it consume him. He was then invited to teach at the academy by Arran so that others would not fall victim like he had. Kaige decided to take him up on that offer and came to the academy to teach.
