Galatea prefers to not talk of her past and less of her parents. She still does have some feelings for them having cooled her heels a bit finally, but still feels that their expectations, what they asked of her and her 'siblings' was unreasonable, and her punishment were unfair. There are things in her past that far back she has come to regret greatly as well, but for all the power she has she simply can't go back and undo it. If humans ever figured out how to even just send a message, a letter, to a point in the past, she'd take advantage of it in a heartbeat.

Anyway it sent her down a path for a while that was more payback then her own. She did what she used to do under her parents.... but felt that her former clientele needed to learn something and learn it well. Everything had a price, be it magic, companionship, someone to help win another puny, pathetic and pointless war, it all has a price. She and her subordinates did what was asked, but for a fair price, in relative terms. But as they realized other potential beyond her looks, and her homeland went through darker and more troubled times, she found herself more and more on the battlefield, gaining a larger and more feared reputation that armies would surrender once anyone that looked like her appeared on the field of battle.

Everything in that dark and turbulent time merely fed her own ego, made her arrogant and feel as if she was beyond anyone. That she was on the level of the deities these people worshiped. But a few hundred years ago, she met her match. A man that was a king chose to stop her reign of terror of his land. She thought him a fool who would send troops to die in vain, only for him to show leading them himself. Even restrained her power had for so long eclipsed others. But this mortal matched her. Nay, bested her in both combat and magic, she thought it a fluke, but he failed to contain her, or so she thought. She targeted him out right, and the same result happened. He would best her every time, and every time, let her go free.

It enraged her, that she was seemingly being told that she was a joke that was no threat. And in her rage one day finally screamed a demand as to why he could finish her, but never did. His reply: "Because you are more then this monster, as much as you hide it." Hild spent 3 days pinned to a rock, that she could have left an hour after he left contemplating that. The fact that a mere human bested her, that he saw good in her despite her causing so much death and destruction. It broke through the rage, and so she once more confronted him, with a desire to stay at his side. He could not take her in as she was, and by this time had a wife and started a family. And so she took on a form none would recognize, and made herself a child to be adopted in appearance. And thus the history books came to say that she was slain, after all, history is written by the victor. She spent her time with the young prince and princess, over the years becoming more attached, and the man who bested her giving her permission to marry him once he was old enough. She had a family, her family had a family... and then things in the family as her own son betrayed his brother, his nephew, and his niece, ad more importantly her.

She chose to leave, finding herself unable to bring herself to harm her own son. She also didn't want to harm those following orders in order to protect themselves. She aided her grandchildren as much as she thought, but couldn't choose a side and so remained neutral. She changed her name, or rather went back to her birth name and changed her last name. She decided after a while to try her hand at teaching others and got herself certified and what not. She had this vast knowledge and all so, why not put it to good use. After all the records in her homeland showed she was a half - breed, a mix between a talented witch and a shape shifter, a role she had become content with. She naturally got through it and went to the big name academy for a job, partially because she was sure once she found out her grand son was here he'd end up there. She was glad to see him show up in one piece. Less so that he had become so... cold seeming, and that he had been hunted to a point he was always on defense and clearly had no problems injuring others. She finds her self torn between revealing who she is to him, or staying under a form he doesn't know and maybe helping that way. Though she knows the best solution is probably a woman of his own to snap him out of it a bit.
