Faelan is set apart from both his parents, where as they are extremely selfish and dead set that their way of thinking is correct, Faelan is almost the complete opposite.

He's generally happiest when giving to others, not self absorbed, not materialistic, modest, serves others rather than himself and he's not very domineering unless the time calls for such a thing.

Faelan is overly loyal to both the innocent people who live in Etandra and his friends, he's a person who does not need instant gratification, has massive amounts of compassion for those who suffer and is sympathetic along with being sensitive to the needs of others to the point where he'd give up something he had if it helped.

Faelan despite being a prince is not exactly vain though he does hide most of his body due to markings on it, he dislikes needless violence and conflict especially when blood is spilled. Generally speaking Faelan is good at taking advice and he can usually meet someone half way on a subject.

Faelan is not relationship obsessed, generally speaking he's toned down, he's not what people would call physically affectionate with most people though he knows how to show compassion. He's a person who does not like to be the center of attention, has level emotions most of the time, thinks before acting and he's extremely modest. He's more responsible than pleasure seeking and he takes his responsibilities very seriously, he's not prone to addiction, not wild and crazy, not power hungry and he's extremely patient most of the time.

Faelan is what one may call honest, averse to change, he tries to avoid making mistakes, is not hard to satisfy, values rules and regulations however he feels that rules and regulations can be ignored if it's for the greater good. He's usually calm in crisis, forgiving, responsible, proper, though he is a little socially unskilled.

HISTORY:

As a child Faelan was never allowed off the castle grounds, he was taught that he should be like his parents and that the fate of the country would eventually rest on his shoulders. However he disliked that. He learned of some of the terrible things that his family, including his mother and father had done over time and thus he began to despise them even as a young child. He didn't believe that what they were doing was right but was silenced on more than one occasion with a swift backhand to the face from his father.

When Faelan turned eight he had to undergo an excruciating operation like situation. Because he couldn't cast magic from gemstones like others and it was found that if he had it actually meld with him then he could use it? His parents had him have marks engraved not just on one part of his body but his entire body save for particular areas. With these marks and the marks he had on his palms he was able to absorb molten gemstones and expel magic from his palms.

Though his parents also had the family crest engraved on his back so that no one would forget whom Faelan was.

As Faelan grew up he noticed how much colder his parents were becoming, their adviser didn't help matters any. The man was selfish, ego-centric and above all else he was power hungry. Faelan having spent time with knights and the adviser knew that the man would eventually try to seek power. Especially since he knew Faelan didn't want the crown.

It was the adviser that made arrangements for Faelan to enter KHA. He doesn't want Faelan around and Faelan knows it. What will happen next is yet to be seen.

EXTRAS:

When he acquires a new gemstone he has to melt it down and pour it in to the indentations/markings on his skin, mainly so that the gemstone will meld with him and then he'll be able to use it. However when this is done it's extremely painful and will take him a week to recover from it, during that time he has to drink medication in liquid form that numbs the pain.
