To begin with Arran was born like every other person in the world. To a mother and father. His birth however... Was extremely odd. His mother was not human. She was something else and upon Arran and his brothers birth? They were whisked away by his father. This was to stop their mother from devouring the two boys.

With the two boys in tow the father returned to an old family home that was within the city that surrounded an old run down academic building and as Arran grew up? He would spend hours up on hours at a time staring at that place. He wanted to know what was inside.

Dragging his brother along with him as he got older the teen broke in to the place when he reached his teenage years. Finding a deep network of paths and even a sort of mine beneath the building. For the next three years Arran Muerte spent time in those mines, wandering with a torch and pick axe attempting to see if he could actually find anything interesting.

It wasn't until Arran turned 18 that he actually found something in the mines beneath the place. A lump of what seemed to be a gemstone. Taking the gemstone home with him he began to study. He also began to experiment with the gemstone it wasn't anything that anyone had found before, that much he was certain of.

When he reached the age of 21 after almost four years of studying the gemstone he'd found? He unlocked the secrets within it. By mistake of course. He got mad with someone who was interrupting his work and whilst he had hold of the gem his anger actually caused him to sub-consciously cast something blasting the other person with a jet of fire.

With this new knowledge the man spent years in the mines not only finding more gemstones over time but also learning how to use them. Showing them to the population, he actually became famous but he didn't allow his name to be put in books and the like instead he went unnamed, believing that anyone could have found this, he just happened on it and someone would have found them eventually.

With his name unknown eventually after time an organization by the name of O found the man and asked for his services saying they would also pay him more than enough to look after his father and his brother. Arran took the job without much thought. He didn't expect it to end the way it did.

He was actually held prisoner. Made to do his experiments night and day. Until the age of thirty-five. Yes his family did get cash, enough to live on but it was at the cost of his own life. During the experiments one of the gemstones actually exploded along with other things Arran was consumed in the blast.

A large gemstone embedded itself where his heart was. In a sense this both killed him and yet kept him alive. With the large gemstone being his life source Arran didn't realize he'd found a way to essentially live forever. His body didn't age after the accident, he never grew any older, he had an incredible control over gemstones and he was able to continue his work. Though the man escaped WITH all his research.

When he eventually returned home, he found his father had actually started the academy. Arran became a teacher there though he slacked off. However as his family aged and found families of their own? They realized Arran didn't age. He told them of his own fate, they understood and now what happened is generally kept a secret unless people see the gemstone embedded in his chest. In which case he will explain what happened. He doesn't seem to feel that it's a curse apart from the fact he couldn't possibly have a family of his own as he would only live to watch them die. The same stands for the branches of his family. He hates it but he's learned to deal with it.

When his father died the board for the school (oddly the school was the academic building Arran used to play in so he knows of it's secrets) decided that Arran would more than likely be best fitting for the job of Principal. He would always have the job and the board would always know who to speak too if things went from bad to worse.

Now Arran teaches and looks after the academy in his own way although he's not sure how to get the monsters that reside in the world to stay off academy grounds, he's currently working on finding a way for such a thing.

Arrans life... Is so sad.
