Kurogane opened the door to his classroom it was close to begin his class. He turned on the lights and begun to look at the empty classroom. It reminded him of the days that he was a student then a student teacher. He went to the chalkboard, and began to write his information.

Professor Youou Kurogane
Weapons History
Welcome to class.

He set the chalk down and began to look at his planner. He looked at the students records that he was going to be looking after. It was going to be a strange term, but when wasn't it. He began to look over his handouts as he heard the door open.

Honestly, he wasn't sure who was entering his classroom. Most of the other professors are busy preparing for their own classes. So that only left a student that decided to come early, a student who lost their way and got into the wrong classroom, or his brother who visits on occasion.

He placed the sheets down and looked at his visitor and raised his eyebrow. "Can I help you?"

All of it seemed to mean nothing to the boy. After all being raised as nothing more then a thief why would he be here? Silent as always he reached up to fix the goggles on his head...making sure they were still there. It didn't mean much now did it. Gareki had been brought here..for reasons he couldn't understand. The dark messy hair covered his eyes for a moment before he just looked up and walked into the classroom. Weapons were something the boy liked...but he didn't want to deal with crowded rooms.

Not exactly his place. Or something he enjoyed...too many people some clingy. Most of the time asking questions they didn't need to. He tried to just slip past the two that were talking keeping his eyes focused on the scene before him. With each step he took the room seemed to be closing in. If only they could have class outside right? Some place a lot more open then this one. He stopped looking at the cases lightly touching it with his hand. Still not bothering to say a single word to them.

After all he didn't have to. Why would he? Gareki could keep to himself for as long as he possibly could. Until either he was spoken towards or someone wanted something from him. So far he had been free of that. "So you might show us just how to use these if we wanted to?" Weapons was something he liked a lot after all his gun was still under his jacket. Hidden from view where no one would be able to get to it.

To him this classroom seemed just way too empty. He didn't wish to think of that though. Gareki had to wonder how many students would show up. Hopefully this classroom wouldn't get that full or he'd be completely confused. Or unsure of what to do knowing him he might walk out of the class room before it even started.

Though he knew it was rude in one way or another. Better off then staying in a place he didn't want to be. One couldn't help others they had to think the worst of people to keep them and maybe even himself safe.[/style]

Rune Had his usual more winter outfit on, but without the white over part. Yes Misao constantly bemoaned the wardrobe he had, mainly because it was most of the same stuff, except he simply ad several of the same outfit. It was comfy, he could move, in this case stay warm, and it was black. Honestly, though, it was a matter of he had really just grown accustomed to the same outfit days at a time and back blended well in the dark. Even he at this point was no longer sure if it was just a habit that would take a while to break and rejoin "normal" society...or if he just no longer had the desire to.

Either way he had to go to class. So he made his way from the dorm, still with all his sword and all though. Call it paranoia or superstition, Rune knew the first day he didn't bring it, would be the one day something happened and he'd be screwed. Plus he could only guess what exactly would be taught in weapons history. He hoped that other then maybe a little instruction it could give more insight to this countries firearms development. They had repeating weapons but nothing like what they had here. They held so many shots, and some you just held that thing n place and it kept firing... what was it? Oh right, trigger. And he'd always thought that the "antiquated" as others might say of his home were bad.

As he got to the door he saw what looked to be the teacher, and another student. Ashe got in he noticed a second student while the teacher displayed more ceremonial looking weapons. He gave a nod to acknowledge he did see the professor and gave the weapons a quick look before moving to a seat in the back corner. He let his sword rest against the chair as he tilted his head back and closed his eyes. The weapon was more then close enough that he could grab it or the person going for it at a moments notice. He just hoped the class started soon.

Strolling to class a smoke hanging out of his mouth as he went and a blade on his back just in case. He had his eyes closed. The door not being open when he got there? He kicked it open with one foot and simply strolled inside. His eyes shifted over the rest of the class before he lifted a hand to the teacher who he already knew from drinking with.

"Sup teach?" He didn't even bother to acknowledge anyone else. He didn't see Ventus either.

".... Kid's late. Makes a change~" He chuckled, being on time was totally worth it when you got to see your brothers panicked face when he's late and you're not. Grinning from ear to ear he headed off and settled himself in a seat shifting the blade from his back and setting it down on the desk in front of him he ran a finger over the sheath.

A frown as he glanced from side to side bored already.

Hope it livens up or I'm walkin' out. His boredom was one of the reasons he was such a troublemaker. He trolled people because it was fun but in class? He had to behave. Plus this was a class full of males which made it even more boring for him really.

The boy usually beat his brother to class but no instead this time he was late. Rushing out of bed tripping over his own pants and face planting the ground in his room. How could it even get anymore awkward then that? Ventus didn't think twice about pulling himself up making sure his pants didn't fall off on top of everything else. Pulling on his jacket, grabbing his back pack and out the door he was. Couldn't be any later then he already was right?

It didn't end up helping if he kept getting distracted or lost. Why would he want to get lost. Vanitas would probably end up making fun of him again. Not that he minded after all they were brothers Vanitas just had one of those odd ways about acting with things. If Vanitas wanted to see the look of panic on his brother's face well then he was in luck. That was the exact look on his face when he raced into the classroom. "I..I'm sorry for being late Sir." He tried to speak between his panting from running here.

"Hi Vanitas!" He bounced towards the other only stopping when he saw the knife. Ventus slipped into a seat on the opposite side of his brother. Why did he have that with him well then again this was weapon's history so he could work with it anyway. If he hadn't instantly gotten distracted by his brother then he would have talked to other people. Well that would happen in other classes he was sure of that.

Now he had to wonder how long Vanitas might stay. Or if this class might have anything happen soon. Part of him felt quite tired...so if it didn't pick up he might sleep instead. Didn't seem all that bad unless the teacher caught him.

"So you might show us just how to use these if we wanted to?"

Kurogane looked to where the door was and saw that a new student had walked in he placed the weapons he took out toward the front of the room and greeted his student. "More or less, though the point of this class is to learn about the the history behind the weapon. Rather than how to use it. Now sit wherever, it doesn't really matter to me."

Another student came along and nodded to him. Kurogane nodded back in acknowledgement, at lease he knew that that student was not going to be too much trouble. It was nice to know that there would be one sane student in his class. But he could never be too sure, he wasn't the type to judge things to quickly.

Kurogane glanced at the weapon that the white haired student carried. He had to admit that was a simple but a beautiful weapon in his eyes. Similar to one of his own. Kurogane saw that the door was closed and was about to open it when someone kicked the door down. And then came in Vanitas. A student that he had talked to before the term officially began. He liked the kid but a student was a student.

"Sup teach?"

"Hello Vanitas," Kurogane quirked an eyebrow as he saw the young man pull out his weapon and placed it on his desk. The look on his face told Kurogane that he was going to be a challenge to keep his attention. He looked at the door, "Try not to kick down my door next time, also put out that cigarette. I don't care if you smoke outside my class but in here I want it out."

Kurogane pulled out sheets of paper from his folder. It seemed that all his students were accounted for, well all except one but it was time to get started. The clock was ticking and he did not like to waste time in class. "Hello class, the name is Kurogane and I'll be teaching all of you weapon's history."

He walked to each student and began to hand out a sheet of paper to each student. He started to hear footsteps coming from the end of the hall and into his classroom. He without glancing around he heard his last student apologize for being late. Kurogane pointed to am empty seat. "Don't makes this a habit kid." He sighed and continued. "What I am passing out right now is your class syllabus. It is an outline of what you'll be learning in my class. It also has my number, that is the best way to contact me if you have any questions."

Once he passed out all of the sheets of paper he went back to the front of the room and placed his hands on his desk. He looked at all the males in the room. 'All males this time huh? looks like its going to be a strange term from this class.' He closed his eyes for a second before continuing. "Look over your syllabus and if you have any questions state them now."

Weapons History
Professor Youou Kurogane
Phone Number: 154 - 564 - 3986

In this class you will learn the basics of weapon history. Where some of the weapons originated from, what revolutionary innovations did several weapons had and how did it impact wars and society.

We shall be focusing on four different areas. This format does not reflect the time frame that each country is from, only a generalization of weapons in general.

Basics:
  • Most weapons that are made of metal will fall into this category, weapons such as swords, daggers, and axes are some prime examples.
  • Weapons that have very simple use and can be manufacture without the help of machines. Bows and arrows are another example.

Intermediate:
  • Basic pistols and guns that appeared after a certain about of time period will be explained in this lesson. This timeframe will be around the time that guns and gunpowder started to be in production.
  • bayonets are a prime example of this movement. We will explore how much gunpowder made a change in military tactics. This category will also explain torture devices and several interrogation uses.

Advanced:
  • This category is reserved for more advanced weapons that surfaced as different countries or just time in general had reform and reconstructed. For instance a gunblade falls into this category. This sections is a bit more broad, so it will be spend discussing what can actually fall into this category.

Uncategorized:
  • This category usually is reserved for weapons that have no real placement in the previous categories. This section is all discussion and it is mandatory that you attend. If you cannot then contact me through my number.

This class will be graded based upon:
  • 40% Attendance
  • 20% Discussion/Participation
  • 20% Homework
  • 20% Exam

The exam shall be discussed in class at a later time and it will take place at the end of the categorized lecture. Any questions or if an emergency comes up then contact me through my number, do not wait until the last minute to do so.

(If there is something that is missing or wrong please let me know and I'll fix it)

Rune opened his eyes at the sound of the door being kicked open and without even thinking had a hand on his blade. Though, all that came through appeared to be another student. All the manners of a wild orc.... but a student. He rolled his eyes and looked at his hand that was on the sword. He really had to get better at that but well, he was sort of conditioned for defense. He let go of the weapon and resumed resting for the time being.

He opened his eyes again though as he heard the words "hello class" since it meant class was more then likely starting. Though as the teacher was handing out sheets another student came in and the teacher simply said not to make it a habit and continued without a beat. He looked over the paper and well, hopefully the number wasn't the only way to contact the teacher. He passed over and went to about the class and looked at the subjects. Basic weapons sounded like all the weapons he was familiar with, intermediate sounded like some of the weapons that had started being developed in his his home, and the two after that made him wonder just how far behind his home was in this. Gunblades? A blade that acted as a pistol of sorts? How it was even made let alone thought of it was beyond him. Least grading seemed easy enough. He raised his hand and waited a second before asking "Professor, are there any ways of contacting you besides the number?" So far rune still had trouble meshing with technology here. Misao was still trying to figure out what he did to make the phone she gave him stop working.

Figure out where they were sitting then move to a less occupied place. Far away as he possibly could get from other students. Gareki tried to pick out the qualities of this people. Finding something negative about each one would make it so much easier to not be friends with them. Not connect to them as had happened with Nai, and those other slightly annoying people.

To be honest he knew the names of the others but he didn't pick to use them. Why would he want to. Until he was given some really good reason too he just plain wouldn't. So far it only seemed to be the male species anyway. What was the point of sticking in a class like that. It gave them the impression most were gay, or just no girls wanted to take this class. Though he had to believe not all girls were into that makeup or looking pretty crap.

"Of course. Though using them...is part of the fun." He spoke only that, then moved to pick a place out of the way. Far from the front it seemed good enough for him. Even if he might be getting himself into a lot of trouble. He only glanced over the syllabus his pen in his mouth. Really already this class didn't seem to be as fun as he thought. But he wanted to take the class to learn. So he might as well work with what was given until it annoyed him.

These people carried weapons too. Well it seemed that would become a normal thing. For now Gareki had no questions he could think of.[/style]

Today she wore her bandanna like a scarf around her neck, a pair of black jeans hugged her hips and a sleeveless turtleneck shirt was covering her top half. She arrived in the academy a few hours earlier after finally finishing unpacking all the furniture in her house. A fifteen year old girl who lived alone and was quite capable of looking after herself. Save for the fact she have memory loss but because of that she should be able to soak up information like a sponge.

With her bag slung over her shoulder she shoved the door open with a single hand and strolled in glancing at the boot print on the door. Apparently she was the only girl in this class. That would be interesting but it wouldn't mean she'd be a push over. Oh no no no.

"I hope that whoever put the foot print on this door is ready to clean the black marks off it, because I'll make them do it if I need too." She commented, her voice cold and her gaze was one of ice then she took one of the sheets from the teachers desk that had what she'd be studying on it. Taking a seat she crossed one leg over the other.

"Sorry I'm late. I got out of hospital after a car crash that caused head trauma and took my memories. I've been recovering. Was in a coma for two weeks before I was released I also just finished unpacking in my new house. So sorry for the late interruption. It won't happen again." Now she scanned over the page, reading quickly and quietly.

"I have a question. I'm guessing we can e-mail you, or visit your dorm room if we can't get hold of you on your phone correct? If not then there's a serious problem there...." She stared at the teacher across the room. All business. No screwing around.

"Hmmm... I'd have thought the exam would have been worth more of a grade to be honest... As for that last statement on the paper... What if someone were to end up like me? Where they're involved in an accident that means they cannot contact you? Is that their fault? Will you mark them down because of that?" Apparently she wasn't fond of this class much right now, though the difference between her and the other students was that right now she was piling a rather large stack of books on her desk beside her and her notebook was in her hands with a pencil.

"So it all seems simple enough to follow. Apart from the obvious problems that jump off the page I have no questions or problems with this." Crossing one leg over the other she tapped her pencil on the top of her notebook. She had opted to sit alone. Away from others, however that was exactly how she liked it.

The boy just moved to take a seat after he seemed to nod, maybe this wasn't going to be so bad. At least with any class that his brother in it that could change quickly. True being related to Vanitas wasn't bad. Just he knew how his brother was. With those things he could say, and various other things that managed to appear along the way. Or if it was a pretty girl but so far everyone was guys. Sucked to be Van for the moment but his brother didn't seem to think much of it yet. "It won't Sir." He spoke as he settled down in the seat. Fixing his hair and moving strands out of his eyes.

He looked at the class syllabus trying to make sense of it. With how easily distracted he was now it didn't take long for his attention to focus on something else. A girl walking into the classroom. Really the only girl in this whole class and he wondered what Vanitas would do. His first thought when to Vanitas if only because of how well he knew his brother. Already in the classroom and saying that. Well he wasn't going to get up and saying anything yet. A girl in a class full of boys would she even know who did it.

He had basically almost hit the door but nothing more then that. Being the klutz that he was anyway. Ventus blinked and jumped a little glancing at Anna, really whoever she was the girl scared him. Waiting for Vanitas to make a comment he didn't really know what to think. The other would probably say something but when and about what. That girl scared him...something about her. She seemed fierce like a female that even Vanitas would fear.

Though knowing his brother he'd try to act like nothing happened. Or do something to her. Waiting for his brother to tease him he just huffed. Ventus didn't mean to suddenly shiver or show he was a bit scared of her. Being who he was she almost reminded him a strict version of Aqua. More strict then her might be a better word for it.

First Ventus said hello, Vanitas rolled his eyes, his twin was annoying to say the least.

"Try not to kick down my door next time, also put out that cigarette. I don't care if you smoke outside my class but in here I want it out." Giving a sigh the raven haired fourth year stood up opening a window, taking a long drag on to cig before he used his fingers to put it out and toss it out the window.

"Ta-da. Done." He sounded sarcastic but that wasn't unusual for him.

Taking the syllabus Vanitas arched a brow before he stuffed the paper in his bag. He had no questions. It was only when a blonde girl walked in to the class late. Vanitas stared at her that was until she made a comment about whoever left the foot print on the door cleaning it up, that made him chuckle, he'd like to see that little thing try to make him but he didn't say anything. At least not yet.

She seemed like she might be as much of a trouble maker as him but again he said nothing. Instead he leaned back in his seat.

"Can we skip the questions and just get on with the class? I mean if we don't start covering stuff soon then we're gonna fall behind right?" Well that was new. Vanitas actually wanting to learn something? Actually it wasn't new, he picked up things relatively easily, he was smart yes but he was also a trouble maker and possibly had a mental disorder.

Kurogane waited patiently for any of the students to ask questions. He would hope that they did ask questions, since that was what he was there for. This was an odd bunch this time around. As a teacher he knew he had to be ready for anything that his students might come up with.

"Of course. Though using them...is part of the fun."

Kurogane looked at the student that said that, he walked back to the blackboard and placed his hands on his desk. "Yes but in this class it is important you learn about the weapons that you might be using one day. Each weapon had their impact on history." Using weapons and knowing them were two different things but Kurogane they complimented each other perfectly.

"Professor, are there any ways of contacting you besides the number?"

Kurogane looked at the white haired student, one of the quiet ones no less. Kurogane pondered for a second, wondering what had he forgotten and to make sure that he added to the syllabus next time. Seems that things still slip his mind. "Yes you could..."

He glanced at the door and saw a young girl walk into his clasroom. She had a cold look on her face. Though he knew that she was ready to learn whatever that he needed to teach her. He liked that in a student. "I hope that whoever put the foot print on this door is ready to clean the black marks off it, because I'll make them do it if I need too." And it seemed that she had a lot of spunk, Kurogane raised an eyebrow and continued to stare. "Welcome Kyoyama." He nodded.

"Sorry I'm late. I got out of hospital after a car crash that caused head trauma and took my memories. I've been recovering. Was in a coma for two weeks before I was released I also just finished unpacking in my new house. So sorry for the late interruption. It won't happen again."

"There is no need for apologies Kyoyama."
Kurogane shook his head, though he thought that none of the girls in the roster would show up.. It was always like this in the first few days. So he had to edit it accordingly so he can turn it up to the office for the official roster. He waited for the girl to sit down in a seat before he continued, however the Anna asked as question.

"I have a question. I'm guessing we can e-mail you, or visit your dorm room if we can't get hold of you on your phone correct? If not then there's a serious problem there...."

"As I was about to explain before you came in, you can always find me either in my dorm room or at the gym. There is also the Academy Twitter you can use to try to find me. You can also see me after class if you have any questions." Kurogane had to hand it to this girl, she was what most teacher would want. A student that would focus on her studies. She seemed serious about learning.

"Hmmm... I'd have thought the exam would have been worth more of a grade to be honest... As for that last statement on the paper... What if someone were to end up like me? Where they're involved in an accident that means they cannot contact you? Is that their fault? Will you mark them down because of that?"

"Well if that does happen the Academy would eventually know." Kurogane explained, the people of the Academy were great at keeping track of the students. After all the safety of them was their number one priority. That would be something that Kurogane would have to agree with. "If something does happen to one of you and I get to hear about it then come and talk to me and we'll arrange a time so that you can make up that day. I will count those people as unexcused until I am given the word as to why you were absent. The Academy does a good job in keeping track of their students." Kurogane explained. "It is not the end of the world if you miss the class, as long as you come to me if you do happen to miss class then we can figure out what to do next."

Kurogane held in the urge to roll his eyes when Vanitas' sarcastic remark about turning off his cigarette. "Yes thank you Vanitas." Kurogane nodded as he started to erase the words he wrote before and began to write once again.

"Can we skip the questions and just get on with the class? I mean if we don't start covering stuff soon then we're gonna fall behind right?"

"If there are no other questions then we'll get started then."

Weapon Basics: What was one of the reasons weapons were originally created for?

  • Stone Age
  • Bronze Age
  • Iron Age

"Alright take out your textbook and turn to page 30." Kurogane said as he was finishing writting on the board. "The history of weapons is a long one that even one term wouldn't come close to cover it. Weapons, were originally used for three things: warfare, Hunting, and committing crimes. Today's lecture will cover the basic weaponry such as bows, swords, etc. Please remember to ask questions if you have them as I am lecturing."

Kurogane was glad to begin class. He opened his own book and continued on with the lecture. He at least hoped that some had questions, since that would mean that they are actually paying attention.
