Naminé is a strange girl in the fact that she seems to think of herself as second best to her step sister Kairi.

Because she tends to do as she's told by those who are close to her and those whom she has to stay around it's molded her in to whom she is now. It's made her in to a rather quiet and fragile girl. She's extremely reserved because of it and tends to seem like she sticks to the phrase of 'speak when spoken too and don't interrupt'.

When her actions hurt others or lead to her being a burden to others it makes her feel ashamed, guilty and responsible, this is also the case when she witnesses bullying because most of the time she doesn't have the strength to stand up for herself or others at the time.

Thanks to her feeling guilt ridden and responsible she actually attempts to rebel against those who bully her and others however, most of the time this doesn't last long and ends with people not focusing on the people she was defending but her instead making the bullying worse. This happened during her school days before the academy so she's extremely wary. She was trying to redeem her actions by helping someone, though this sometimes led her in to situations that caused her to be a damsel in distress. Something she doesn't like because of the fact that then when people try to help her it puts them in danger, this leads to her feeling even worse because she can't help and only seems to cause trouble.

Due to her constant switching of sides and trying to rebel against those who use her, she's actually become a little stubborn when she sets her mind on something. She's also become a very determined young woman with her own set of morals. This has helped her on numerous occasions because it seems to kick in when she really truly needs to be strong for both herself and others during times of crisis.

HISTORY:

Naminé grew up with her mother, her father was always absent. She was taught all she knows by that woman. It was only when she was six years of age that she was told that she had a sister, a half-sister but a sister none the less that was the same age as her, named Kairi.

Naminé kept her mothers name, never using her fathers last name as her own because she didn't deem herself worth enough to be part of that family. She didn't want to ruin everything so when her mother finally passed away when she was ten due to illness she was put in to foster care, never telling anyone about her father or her step sister.

She had five grueling years of living with a family that only took her in because they got paid a monthly salary for doing so, she was given very little in the way of belongings and she was given a small amount of pocket munny that she saved profusely. She saved because she was intent on eventually going to one of the many academies that were available. Even though she was being bullied everyday in her current school, she still passed her classes, she always got decent grades because she tried her hardest so that she wouldn't be a failure if only for her dead mothers sake.

Not only was she bullied at school but she was also bullied at home by her foster brother. When it came for her to leave her current school and move on to better things, she was fifteen and had been saving for almost five years. However, when she went to eventually use her savings to get in to the academy in Etandra and pay for the expenses of travel, she found her munny was missing.

Her brother had taken it, he'd bought himself new things, stereo, games console, phone... He used her munny for it all and all that remained was 10 munny.

He gave her that and she broke down.

She cried for hours over the fact that she probably wouldn't be able to get in to the academy without paying to do so. Where as he had a scholarship at a different academy, she wanted to leave the home and move on to a better place, go to a different country. Run away from it all.

She soon returned to her old school, asking, no, begging her principal to help her get a scholarship in to an academy, when he eventually managed to get her one in art (two years later after she'd been trying to find work to earn enough munny to go to the academy it was unsuccessful)? She was ecstatic, she was free, she could go somewhere else, even better it was at the best academy out there and she was to leave in two days.

Packing her things she didn't say a thing to her parents. Instead she waited till the morning that she was supposed to leave to tell them that she was leaving and when she did? She ran out of the door with her bags. Jumping in to the car that came to take her to the train station to send her on her way she ignored the yelling that she could hear and then she was off.

A new start.

Something good finally.

Now at the academy she's going to try her hardest to do her best in all subjects that she takes so that perhaps when she leaves? She will be able to get a good well paid job and live happily in the knowledge her mother would be happy to see her living that way.
